The challenge
Utah is seeing a wave of large data center proposals, and lawmakers are weighing how the state should handle their power use, tax treatment, incentives and local approvals.
What Alpen does
Alpen advises the committee on the economic, tax, financial and regulatory implications of new data center policy. Our team has led statewide economic development, supported a 1.5 GW data campus through county approval, and conducted fiscal and economic impact studies that county and city officials have used in their approval processes. We draw on experience across public agencies and major capital programs.
